Jun 08, 2012 - There are no words that can describe the emptiness and pain and utter sadness that I live with every moment of every day.

Hi, I’m Sheri Arsenault, for some that don’t know, my son Brad along with his life long friend Kole and his very good friend Thad were killed by Johnathan Robert Pratt, an alleged drunk driver November 26, 2011 near the town of Beaumont.

It is my hope and desire that through the efforts of this and other rally’s, awareness about drinking and driving and the laws that govern this serious crime will be continually scrutinized so that tragedies of this nature will be prevented.

It is also my hope that the laws will change in order to swiftly and severely deal with the perpetrators of these crimes not only to initiate closure for the families and friends of the victims, but to intensify the public message on the seriousness of drinking and driving.

This crime of choice is completely avoidable and so senseless.  The decision to drink and drive kills innocent people and completely devastates families.

There absolutely needs to be changes to the laws and the sentencing must be more severe in order to defer individuals from drinking and then driving.

My wish is that politician’s would take this matter more seriously and strive for stricter laws and much harsher sentences.  Protect the Public!  Everyone has the right to get home safe!

6 months and 12 days ago I would never have imagined that I would have lost my son Bradley, or to be here speaking to you today.  The deaths of these 3 young men has not only changed our lives forever, but has also impacted the Community from where they were from and all the people we have met since.

Please let us never forget the state of realization and comprehension that we all reached on the horrific outcome that occurred by the decision made by Jonathan Robert Pratt, and all other outcomes from drinking and driving.

Let us lead by example and continue to teach our children to make good decisions, to be responsible, and to be accountable for their actions.

I miss my son Bradley terribly; there are no words that can even describe the emptiness and pain and utter sadness that I live with every moment of everyday.  Our lives are forever altered, our dreams are shattered. My son was only 18, with his whole life ahead of him.

But let us look forward to future changes so there will be no more victims of this senseless crime that I call “Murder by Choice”

I wish to thank , all the mom’s, Sandra, Jenn and Janel, you have helped me emotionally where others could not, I would like to thank all the Keeler’s, Darren and Brandee, for organizing this Rally. And lastly the volunteers for the time you have committed to this rally.

We met because of the worst possible reason, our common thread is our children and our desire that the Justice System does not let them down.

We will fight on for our children!

The Arsenault, Novak and Lake families are hugely appreciative to you, the community of Red Deer and Beaumont for showing your support in this mission.

Bradley if you wouldn’t mind, could you give Kole, Thad, Colton and Tyson a hug for me.  Let the 4 Grand Prairie Warriors teach you a thing or two about football. All you amazing boys, please take care of Koralea for us, and lastly, always listen to Brad and Krista because they know the love of a parent.

Thank you Bradley,

Thank you
