Jun 25, 2014 - FAMILIES FOR JUSTICE MEETS WITH HON. JONATHAN DENIS AT COCHRANE COURTHOUSE

We are very pleased to announce that the Honorable Jonathan Denis (Justice Minister of Alberta) is scheduled to meet with Families for Justice June 25th, 2014 at the Cochrane courthouse.

Mr. Denis has previously shown his support regarding the “Families for Justice” petition, in which FFJ is asking for a mandatory minimum sentence of five years for those convicted of impaired driving causing death and changing the charge to the offence of “Vehicular Manslaughter”

Although this is a federal crime, we believe government support given at the provincial level is very important for our organization Families for Justice.

Families for Justice is an active group formed sadly by the loss of a loved one by the CHOICE made by impaired drivers.  Amongst our grief and heartache we have banded together to change the way our justice system in Canada treats this crime.

Averages of four people lose their lives each and every day to this very serious crime and it is time for our justice system to look at this seriously.  Much can be done to deter people from this at all levels of government.

Please click for information on the “Families for Justice” petition and please join the “Families for Justice”  facebook page.

OUR ARMS ARE STRONGER TOGETHER
