Rocky RCMP responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision along Hwy. 22, just south of the Hwy. 12 intersection at 6:30 a.m. on June 15.

Cpl. Bob Schultz and Cpl. Mark Burnell of the Rocky Mountain House detachment said a red Dodge 3500 Mega cab pickup truck was driven into the path of a northbound white Chevy half-ton, causing a head-on collision.

"The 52-year-old male driver and lone occupant of the Chevy pickup died instantly," stated a press release.

'The 24-year-old male driver and lone occupant of the red Dodge pickup was taken-to hospital under police escort. Alcohol and speed are believed to be factors in the collision."

Charges are pending as this incident is still under investigation utilizing the RCMP Collision Reconstruction Analyst.

Names of the accused and the deceased are not being released at the time of publication, pending formal charges.
