Dec 12, 2014 - ALBERTA-WIDE CHECK STOP BLITZ NABS HUNDREDS OF DRIVERS

Mounties pulled over 20,825 vehicles on Dec. 5 in 230 communities.

The Check Stop blitz was part of a national enforcement campaign with RCMP, Alberta Traffic Sheriffs and municipal officers working together to get impaired drivers off the road.

During the one-day blitz, Alberta RCMP charged 70 drivers with impaired by alcohol. Another 71 drivers were suspended for alcohol, one driver was impaired by drugs and 24 motorists were suspended due to drugs.
