May 30, 2012 - DAHL CASE MOVED TO JUNE 28 AFTER BRIEF COURT APPEARANCE (Koralea Boettger's case)

A Stettler teenager charged in connection with a truck collision that killed another Stettler teenager in February is scheduled to appear in court next month to enter plea.

Trevor James Dahl, 19, was in Stettler Provincial Court last Thursday.

“Your election is reserved to June 28,” Judge E. D. Riemer told the accused, who stood before the judge wearing a bright red shirt in front of an overflowing crowd of more than 70 people in the courtroom.

“Be present and be ready to make your election.”

Along with two new charges of failing to comply with conditions, Dahl faces charges of operating a motor vehicle causing death, dangerous driving of motor vehicle causing death, and failing to supply a blood sample.

Stettler RCMP reported that Dahl was the driver of a pickup that left a dirt road near Stettler in the early hours of Feb. 11 and rammed into a stand of trees, killing passenger Koralea Boettger, 17.

At the time, she was a Grade 12 student at William E. Hay Composite High School in Stettler.
