Oct 12, 2012 - WE MET WITH A MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT AND VOICED OUR CONCERNS

We are pleased to announce that a meeting with Mr. James Rajotte, the M.P. for Edmonton-Leduc took place at his constituency office. The meeting was requested by Bradley Arsenault's family and Sandra Green was able to attend as well.

The purpose was to discuss our concerns with the justice system as it relates to impaired driving offences. Sandra Green was able to give a first hand example of how lenient the current sentencing practices are as the case against Chad Olson has concluded.

We were able to discuss our frustration with what has occurred to date for us. We were also able to address the magnitude of the problem of impaired driving and ask that our concerns be heard. The "Families for Justice" petition was shown to Mr. Rajotte and the background and purpose of it was discussed.

Mr. Rajotte has given us his complete support and will gladly take the “Families for Justice” petition with signatures we have obtained to parliament. He also encouraged us to seek out the support of as many other MPs as possible.

We wish to sincerely thank Mr. Rajotte for taking the time to meet with us and listen to our concerns. We look forward to working with him to get the “Families for Justice” petition to Ottawa.
