Jan 24, 2013 - ALLEGED DRUNK DRIVING CASE PUSHED TO MARCH FOR CALGARY MAN (Brandon Thomas case)

A Cochrane mother who suffered the tragic loss of her son in December says she will attend every court appearance a Calgary man makes, until justice is served.

17-year-old Brandon Thomas was killed in a car crash along Highway 22, on December 6th.

Police say Thomas’ vehicle collided with pickup truck allegedly driving the wrong way down the highway by a suspected impaired driver.

Ryan Gibson is facing six offences in connection to the crash, including impaired driving causing death.

Thomas’ mother attended court on Thursday, surrounded by family and friends wearing black shirts in memory of Brandon.

She says she will be at every court appearance until justice is served.

“We wanted to make a statement that we're here for Brandon,” says Kim Thomas. “We're never going to forget him, we miss him every single day. We want to see justice for Brandon.”

Gibson didn’t appear in court, and had his case adjourned until March 7th.
