Woman accused of impaired driving in crash that killed passenger and other driver

The lone survivor of a two-vehicle crash in northwest Calgary that killed two people on the weekend now faces criminal charges.

Just before 3 a.m. on Sunday a 25-year-old woman drove her Toyota Yaris through a red light at Shaganappi Trail, hitting a Mercedes sedan going west on Country Hills Boulevard.

The driver of the Mercedes, 20-year-old Arshdeep Brar, was killed, as was Danielle Russell, the 21-year-old female passenger in the Yaris.

Amie Nottebrock, 25, received minor injuries. She was arrested on Tuesday and charged with two counts of impaired driving causing death and two counts of dangerous driving causing death.

Danielle Victoria Russell, 21, died when the vehicle she was riding in ran a red light and hit another car.

Arshdeep Brar, 20, was killed in an early morning collision in northwest Calgary on Sunday.
