Aug 09, 2011 - SEVENTEEN-YEAR-OLD PIERCELAND YOUTH KILLED IN VEHICLE COLLISION [Justin Pollock

 

Bradley Pikowicz, 34, of Pierceland, appeared in court Monday in relation to charges stemming from an Aug. 4 traffic accident that killed a 17-year-old male.

The 17-year-old, also from Pierceland, was pronounced dead at the scene on Highway 21 when emergency crews responded at 9 a.m. Thursday.

An initial investigation determined the vehicle had driven off the road and crashed into nearby trees, killing the youth and injuring an adult female passenger.

Pikowicz answered to charges including impaired operation and criminal negligence causing death. Charges were also laid in relation to the injuries sustained by the second passenger.

The female’s injuries were described as non-life-threatening and she was transported to hospital following the accident.

The collision occurred approximately 13 km north of Pierceland on the road to Northern Pine.

Traffic re-constructionists from Meadow Lake are also aiding the investigation.
