Oct 25, 2013 - FAMILIES FOR JUSTICE Booth at the 2013 West Coast Women's Show

For the second year in a row Families For Justice president Markita Kaulius has secured a booth at one of the largest women’s show in Canada - The West Coast Woman’s Show at the Tradex Center in Abbotsford B.C.

Last year on October 22-24th, after speaking to hundreds and hundreds of people, over 3000 signatures were obtained at this trade show.  At that time this put the totals to over 16,000.

One year later and after much hard work, Families for Justice has collected just over 44,000 signatures.  Our hope is after the 2013 trade show, we will have 50,000 signatures from Canadian’s that support harsher penalties for those that cause fatalities after choosing to drive while impaired.

Our current system continues to treat this as an “unfortunate accident” and also continues to hand out sentences that are not perceived as anything close to fair by the public. This is the #1 leading cause of criminal death in Canada and 100% preventable.

Today as I write this 4-6 new moms and dads are processing that their child has been killed in the most violent way imaginable.

I am proud to be able to attend the “Families for Justice” booth this year.  Aimee and I will be there along with many others that walk the same road as us and are persistent to bring about legislation that will spare other families from this immense grief.  We are all determined to leave a very powerful legacy behind for our loved ones.

Anyone taking in the Women’s show in Abbotsford please find our Families for Justice booth.  Be a part of change.
