LOCATION: Links Golf Course in Spruce Grove

MADD asked for a volunteer from BKT Memorial for this event and Sheri gladly accepted.  They also requested the black & white photos of the boys to display at their “fatal vision” putting hole which every golfer has to pass through. 

Why Support the MADD Edmonton & Area Golf Tournament?

This is what MADD Edmonton does with funds raised from the Golf Tournament:

Victim Services:

  • “We Care!” - extensive referral assistance to available groups/agencies
  • Free printed materials – provides support on the grieving process and coping with injury
  • Resource Guide – provides a comprehensive list of reference resources
  • Annual Candlelight Vigil & Victims’ Weekend
  • Court accompaniment and support during the criminal trial process
  • Victim Impact Panels – support and assistance with the panels

Chapter Events:

  • Project Red Ribbon – Tie One On For Safety – the drive sober campaign
  • Check stops – working with police at their roadside check stops
  • Designated driver packages
  • Buddy Cards

Public Awareness:

  • Run local radio campaigns during the holiday and grad seasons
  • Host events such as the MADD Edmonton Annual Golf Tournament
  • Advertise in local newspapers year round
  • Local business presentations

Youth Education:

  • Sponsor our Multimedia presentations in schools in the region
  • Run an annual media Grad campaign which includes radio PSA’s and posters
  • Have volunteers go to schools across the region to speak with students about the facts of impaired driving
